CONGRATULATIONS TO MAURA AND MARIAN!
In May, four students from Sonrise Christian Academy competed in the qualification races here in San Felipe. Three of them did not advance to the next level, but they will continue training throughout the year to prepare for future competitions. One of our rowers, Maura advanced to the final races (age 15-16 category) in Mexico City! She was paired with another participant named Marian, who is also from a junior high school in San Felipe. Maura and Marian went on to win two gold medals and a silver!

MONTHLY MINISTRY SUPPORT NEEDED! – Part of the vision at Sonrise Christian Academy is to provide a faith-based education for all the children at Sonshine Hacienda Children’s Receiving Home. The kids who live at Sonshine have experienced poverty, abandonment, abuse, and/or extreme neglect before they came to us. We have an average of about thirty school age children, but currently only fourteen academic sponsors. The cost for uniforms, books, and tuition is $150 dollars per month (or $1800 dollars per year). Please consider helping with the Sonrise Academy sponsorship fund. Your generous monthly donations are always greatly appreciated!

Our amazing student musicians were invited to perform for the graduation ceremony of one of the other schools in San Felipe! They did an excellent job!

SONRISE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY DANCE TEAM - 2024 DANCE FESTIVAL!
In June this year our dance team participated in the 5th Festival of Dance at the Malecón in San Felipe!
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED TO HELP US PURCHASE THE SCIENCE TABLES! - The tables have been installed, and the 6th graders will be able to finish their graduation projects!
DRUM and BUGLE CORP – This fall, Sonrise Academy will feature a marching Drum and Bugle Corp! We have already received donations to purchase instruments. We also need to raise $1000 for uniforms and supplies.
UPDATE! - MAY 20, 2024 - We have begun ordering instruments for the Corp! THANK YOU to those wo have already donated!
